AMMAN, 22 July 2007 — Jordan-based Arab Bank Chairman and CEO Abdel Hamid Shoman on Thursday chaired a meeting that brought together top executives from the bank’s headquarters and regional managers. Top on the meeting’s agenda was the discussion of plans to upgrade work processes in the bank’s branches to keep up with developments in the banking industry at the regional and international levels.

Shoman said the meeting acquired special importance in light of the continued efforts to support institutionalized work and develop the performance of branches and regional managements in fulfillment of Arab Bank’s expansion policies.

Shoman said that the Arab Bank, which achieves success after success in comprehensive banking, is keen on expanding its operations in capital markets and meeting the needs of investors and customers at all levels. The bank, he added, is working on enhancing banking services and products, in line with the industry standards.

To achieve the bank’s strategic goals and increase its share in the local, regional and international markets, Shoman said, the higher management has sought assistance from a leading consultancy firm, which helps the bank achieve effective changes in its internal and external operations. He underlined the considerable progress made in streamlining the structure of the management of the bank and the relationship between the departments and branches.
