RIYADH, 23 July 2007 — If you are 21 years old and above, currently employed and have a good singing voice, this could be your chance to shine: the search for “Kabayan Idol” for 2007.

To join, you have to contact Fesscor Talent Center, a Riyadh-based performing arts group and register.

The contest is open to all Filipinos, working and residing in the Kingdom. The contestant must possess pleasing personality and has good moral character, according to Art Basilio Capulong, the event organizer.

Capulong, who will also direct the show, encouraged interested participants to get in touch with him via e-mail at [email protected] or [email protected] or via mobile numbers 05073-54621 or (01)276-4679.

The requirements include a 5” x 7” color photo (close up) taken within the last 6 months, and a photocopy of passport and iqama.

Registration is only up to Aug. 3. Screening and audition days are held on weekends from 1-6 p.m. Applicants are required to their own “minus-one” materials during the audition.

An elimination round is slated on Aug. 30, followed by a final round the next day. Both shows will be held at the Philippine Embassy grounds.

“Cash prize, a plaque, a certificate and various gift items await the winner and runner-ups. The grand champion will also appear during special projects and events of Fesscor,” said Capulong.

Selection of the Kabayan idol and two runners-up will be based on vocal quality, voice projection and diction, timing and expression, showmanship and stage presence, and presentation and appearance.
