RIYADH, 26 July 2007 — Prince Alwaleed bin Talal, chairman of Kingdom Holding Company (KHC), received Peter Slipper, MP and leader of an Australian parliamentary delegation, at his office in Riyadh. They were accompanied by Australian Ambassador Ian Biggs. Participation of Saudi women in the work force was among the subjects discussed at the meeting. "Saudi women are pillars of their society and must be supported and given the opportunity within the framework of their Islamic tradition," the prince said. They also discussed the prince's investments through KHC in Australia in the banking sector through Citi, in the media sector through News Corp. and the hotel sector through Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts. Slipper referred to Prince Alwaleed's various achievements in many sectors that include real estate, hotels, tourism, media and banking and the sectors' significant role in the regional economy.
