Oxygen-Depleted Well Claims Life of Brothers

TAIF, 5 August 2007 — Two brothers were killed after one of the two men went into a dry well here to retrieve a dropped mobile phone and died from asphyxiation, Al-Watan reported yesterday. Six rescue workers also suffocated from the lack of oxygen at the base of the well, but were pulled out before succumbing. One of the brothers went down into the well after his sibling failed to emerge from the well. Locals called emergency workers who attempted to rescue the two men.
