DHAHRAN, 13 August 2007 — Noted Congress leader and an eminent Indian jurist has said that the bilateral relations between India and Saudi Arabia have reached new high under the leadership of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah and Indian Premier Manmohan Singh.
Muhammad Aslam Sayeed, a Congress party leader from Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh, said in the past three years the relations between the two countries have reached new height in trade, education and health care. King Abdullah’s visit to India gave a new impetus to Indo-Saudi relations and opened new horizons for bilateral cooperation.
He said there was scope for expanding the relations beyond trade between the two countries. He said both the countries have vibrant economies and businessmen should enter into mutual dialogues for cooperation in unexplored sector.
He expected more Saudi trade delegations to India and hoped that such visits will open up opportunities for establishing joint ventures in India and Saudi Arabia, particularly in the field of information technology, steel and petrochemicals.
Aslam Sayeed, on a private visit, performed Umrah. In the Eastern Province he met businessmen and discussed various obstacles faced by businessmen in both the countries and ways to remove them. He will also visit the Jubail Industrial City.
