PISJ-ES Students Set New Record of Outstanding Results

JEDDAH, 13 August 2007 – Pakistan International School (English Section) Jeddah (PISJ-ES) students have set a new record of outstanding results at the 2007 IGCSE (‘O’ Level) and ‘A’ Level examinations conducted by the British University of Cambridge.

Its A’ Level students have achieved 99.9 percent pass results with excellent grades, according to Saher Kamran, director finance and administration, PISJ-ES.

Its top achievers at ‘A’ Level examination have secured A grades in all subjects.

Areeba Ariz secured first position at the school at IGCSE (‘O’ Level examination) by scoring 7 A*s, two A’s and ICE distinction award.

“I’m very happy that I have achieved the result I dreamt of and the hard work has paid off,” said an ecstatic Areeba, adding, “I owe my success to my family and teachers who have been an anchor of support and encouragement. I am also lucky to have received my education from some very talented and dedicated teachers. It is to these people that I am grateful for bringing out the best in me.”

Some of the top achievers are: Mohammed Shahrukh four A grades (Four ‘A’ Level subjects and one AS math) and Rabeeah Ali four A’s. Qurrat-ul-Ain Ashfaq and Neelam Asghar, who opted for three ‘A’ Level subjects and one AS math, got A’s in all subjects. Misbah Gulam got A’s in all three subjects. Most of the students have achieved outstanding and commendable results ranging between 85 percent and 100 percent. Students who appeared at AS exam this year have also performed very well.

Zainab Qazi and Syed Bilal Ahmad took four subjects and got all A’s. Syed Faran Bukhari and Mujtaba Mansoor got A’s in all his three subjects. Other outstanding results are obtained by Ahmad Mohammad Tahir, Abdul Musawir, Anam Raif, Mustufa Noor, Noor Qammar and Asnia Shah.

“Our ‘O’ Level students have produced 100 percent pass results. The number of A*’s and A grades have turned out to be the highest as compared to all previous years,” Sehar said.

Hira Mobeen obtained seven A*’s and 2 A’s. Tajver Khawaja appeared in eight subjects and got six A*s, two A’s and ICE distinction award. M. Mehdi Premji, Someen Khan and Sara Shahnawaz took nine subjects and got six A*’s, three A’s and ICE distinction award. Saad Anwar also took nine subjects and got six A*s and three A’s. Hassan Shakoor appeared in eight subjects and obtained five A’s, three A’s and ICE distinction award. Syeda Parkha took eight subjects and got four A*s, four A’s and ICE distinction award.

Other students achieving outstanding results and ICE distinction awards are Ahmad Kamal Ghori, Hassan Shakoor, Mohammad Babar Jafree, Nabeel Anees, Siddi Abdullah Faiz, Ayesha Rais, Fatima Naveed, Nuzhat Riaz, Tahira Younus, Amal Amjad, Bismah Munaf and Fatma Fasih.

PISJ-ES Principal Syed Esar Hussain Shah congratulated the students, their parents and the faculty members on this “landmark achievement.”
