Jakarta to Host Trade ‘Expo Indonesia 2007’ in October

RIYADH, 17 August 2007 — Jakarta will host a high-profile merchandise and commodity exhibition later this year.

The Indonesia’s National Agency for Export Development (NAFED) and its Ministry of Trade are gearing up for presenting this large five-day trade show entitled “Trade Expo Indonesia 2007” from Oct. 23 to 27, which is likely to attract hundreds of thousands of businessmen and trade leaders from all over the world.

All government agencies have made concerted efforts, simply to assure higher satisfaction and advantages for all visitors. For sure, the number and type of products as well as addition of new facilities will together make this 22nd Trade Expo Indonesia more spectacular than ever before.

“Serving Global Market” is the theme of the Trade Expo Indonesia 2007, which seeks to highlight the determination of Indonesia to go global especially in the domain of international trade and export.

“We are more than happy to invite you to Trade Expo Indonesia 2007,” said Sintoyo, a spokesman of the Indonesian embassy, here. All visitors to this exhibition will be welcomed and greeted by no less than 1,000 companies, which have been registered so far.

These companies will feature a whole range of products and services including wooden furniture, stationery, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, sporting goods, metal products, automotive components and parts, textiles and garments. Also, there will be exhibitors of handicrafts, food and beverage, building materials, toys and games, plastic and glassware besides many other products.

“In case, someone misses specific items on search, we will be on your side to meet the producer you need in Jakarta or elsewhere in Indonesia,” said Sintoyo, adding that the show will also offer facilities like internet, facsimile, phone lines, business rooms, banking, and cargo transportations for visitors from foreign countries.

“For more convenience and comfort, we recommend a number of international hotels with dedicated transportation teams on service during your stay in Jakarta,” said the embassy official.

“We are also glad to inform you that Garuda Indonesia will offer special prices during the exhibition,” noted the official, adding that the host country will take full care of safety and security of all businessmen, delegates and visitors.

He called on all Gulf businessmen to visit the trade show.

He also announced that more than 20 Indonesian exhibitors will participate in Saudi Agriculture 2007 (the 26th International Agriculture, Water & Agri-Industry Show) and Saudi Food 2007 (the 14th International Food, Equipment & Catering Sow) to be held from Nov. 11-15 this year at Riyadh Exhibition Center (REC).
