SHARJAH, 24 August 2007 — Qanat Al-Qasba, a family leisure and cultural destination of the Gulf region, will host Ramadaniat Al-Qasba 2007 starting next month. The five-week long annual event will run through the Holy month of Ramadan into the Eid Ul Fitr celebrations.
Organized for the third successive year, this year’s Ramadaniat Al-Qasba is being adapted to make Ramadan an entertaining and spiritual time with a host of activities lined up for the coming weeks.
“Since its inception in 2005, Ramadaniat Al-Qasba has evolved into one of the most happening events in the UAE. This year, we expect to attract a large number of visitors, young and old, from various nationalities. The monthlong festivities will include various entertainment events as well as religious, heritage, children’s events and competitions which are bound to attract a large number of visitors daily,” said Hamdan Al-Kaabi, events coordinator at Qanat Al-Qasba Development Authority.
“We aim to make this year’s Ramadaniat Al-Qasba more exciting for visitors of all ages and nationalities through the wide range of events to that will be provided by the canal banks as well as through the scrumptious Iftar and Al-Suhoor meals that will be offered throughout the month of Ramadan” he added.
Qanat Al-Qasba, is also participating at the ongoing Sharjah Summer Festival 2007. Held at the Sharjah Expo Center in cooperation with the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the festival aims at providing family entertainment with activities, games and rides.
The two-month long Sharjah Summer festival that began in July will continue until Aug. 31. Qanat Al-Qasba participates in the festival through the Fun Zone offering an array of games and rides tailored for children of different age groups.
In addition to games, competitions and fantastic prizes have been offered to visitors to win free rides in Qanat Al-Qasba’s Eye of the Emirates, the highest observatory wheel in the region, Abra rides and vouchers to the world class restaurants and cafes.
