JEDDAH, 3 October 2007 — Alhamrani Fuchs Petroleum Saudi Arabia, Ltd., which owns a modern manufacturing complex in Yanbu, has been in the lubricants business since 1979. It has emerged as the biggest of its kind in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.
It produces a wide and complete range of premium quality lubricants and greases with a production capacity that exceeds 125,000 metric tons per annum covering 20 percent of the overall local market demand; more than 30,000 tons are exported to the MENA region. The company is today the largest lubricant exporter among the Top 100 exporters and one of the Top 100 Saudi rated companies.
In 1988, lube oils and grease manufacturing plants were constructed in Yanbu, hence Alhamrani-Fuchs Petroleum Saudi Arabia joint venture was formed in 1995 between Fuchs Petrolub, Germany (the largest independent producer and marketer of lubricants and greases in the world). It reported 1.32 billion euros ($1.75 billion) in 2006 worldwide revenues. Since then Alhamrani-Fuchs established itself as one of the largest lubricants companies in the Kingdom.
The joint venture partnership equity consists of Alhamrani Fuchs Petroleum S.A. Ltd. at 68 percent and Fuchs Petrolub AG Germany at 32 percent.
Fuchs Oil Middle East Ltd., based in UAE, is the export division, the marketing arm for Alhamrani Fuchs Petroleum.
Alhamrani Fuchs Petroleum was the first Saudi company to obtain ISO 14001 environment-friendly blending plant in the Middle East and North Africa, besides being the first to obtain ISO 9002 in the field and upgraded to ISO 9001 2000.
Alhamrani Fuchs Petroleum was the pioneer in many fields; it was the first to produce high performance engine oils (API/SG) for the Saudi markets followed by a more developed formulation (API/SL).
