ALKHOBAR, 8 October 2007 — Forty-six more Filipinos in the Eastern Province have joined the growing ranks of the computer-literate, courtesy of the Association of Computer Enthusiasts of Saudi Arabia (ACES).
Bienvenido Santos, ACES president, said 27 of the participants completed the four-Friday seminar-workshop on Computer Assembly, Troubleshooting and Networking, and 19 finished the Digital Photography, Computer Graphics and Web Development training.
Both workshops were held at the International Philippine School in Alkhobar (IPSA) on Sept. 14, 21, 28 and Oct. 05.
The graduates in the computer assembly training were Allan L. Basco, Elmeraldo L. Beltran, Alberto L. Borja, Renato T. Catotocan, Valeriano E. Corado, Joven Cruz, Jerome M. De Asis, Romulado T. Faraon, Rogelio Floresca Jr., Joseph A. Gelera, Benigno Guillano, Liberato I. Igat Jr., Orlando M. Lampasa, August Libalib, Joselito G. Manalili, Sarip A. Mupac, Beato S. Odasco, Dexter Puna, Rafael Puna, Rommel Puna, Danilo P. Roque, Venancio L. Salvan, Orlando S. Santos, Rodrigo A. Sapigao, Orlando J. Sendico, Ronnie Tubid, and Albert P. Yee.
In the Digital Photography training, the graduates were Joseph L. Abani, Elden Abunas, Salvador F. Andaya, Cyprus A. Birosoto, Rodolfo M. Cura Jr., Godfrey G. Daygon, Leonardo G. Detita, Narciso C. Dichoso, Ronnie A. Escobal, Eric Estrobo, Alan V. Gabay, Lorenzo R. Hernandez, Ronald Allan Hilario, Lito Hobayan, Nerio C. Jaena, Luis A. Mendez, Jorge G. Reblora, Roger I. Te, and Joselito L. Tiama.
Willie Concepcion, a representative of the Philippine Overseas Labor Office, Eastern Region Operations, handed over certificates of accomplishment to the participants during their graduation ceremony at Al-Hammad Hotel in Alkhobar on Friday.
He was assisted by Andrew Nathaniel G. Santos, ACES adviser and chairman of Cybercoop.
The computer assembly training was conducted by the ACES Vice President Salvador Orbigo Jr., the digital photography seminar by Jose A. De Luna, and the computer graphics and web development by Bienvenido Santos.
ACES has scheduled another four-Friday seminar on Computer Assembly, its third for the year, on Oct. 19 and 26 and Nov. 2 and 9 simultaneously with the seminar-workshops on Basic AutoCAD and Advance Networking with Server Administration using Linux operating systems.
