JEDDAH, 9 October 2007 — Three names were floated as likely candidates for a coaching job at Al-Ahli even as the Jeddah-based football club wound up negotiations to bring in Iraqi footballer Atram from Al-Shabab. During a meeting on Sunday honorary members suggested three new Brazilian names to coach Ahli football team, among them, former Hilal coach Biseiro and Asian Cup-winning Iraq coach Jorvan Vieira. No mention was made in the meeting of a possible return by their former coach Serbian Nebusha. The members also agreed to establish a new technical committee under the presidency of Ahmed Marzooqi and that will have Ahmed Abdulwassea, Wajdi Al-Taweel, Khalid Al-Shineif and Fahd Eid as members.

Hilal Want Hawasawi

JEDDAH — Desperate to beef up their defense line Al-Hilal football club had offered a transfer fee of up to SR10 million to Al-Wehda for the services of Usama Hawasawi. The move comes after Hilal failed to clinch a deal with Hamad Al-Muntashiri of Al-Ittihad and Walid Abdrabbuh of Ahli. If again unsuccessful to land Hawasawi Hilal will attempt to lure Majid Al-Amri from Al-Ittifaq club as their last hope.
