Man Marries Woman 60 Years Younger

AL-MIDHNAB, 7 November 2007 — An 80-year-old man, tired of being belittled by his children and great-grand children, announced that he was going marry to prove that he wasn’t as helpless as they thought, the Al-Jazirah daily reported yesterday. The octogenarian thought the best way to prove that he was young and physically apt was to shock his family by announcing that he was going to marry a 20-year-old woman. Despite a 60-year age gap, the couple celebrated their wedding, a first in the Al-Midhnab province, south of Qassim. Not surprisingly, a number of elders attended the ceremony, liking the idea of capturing the past.
