MORE than 400 women gathered at Duniaty Hall in the Jeddah Westin Hotel on October 24th to participate in the LG fifth annual cooking competition. Most of them were housewives with a passion for cooking and so they went on stage live to cook using the LG Solar Dom oven.
Twenty participants were randomly chosen in a draw including ten singles and five teams, consisting of two related participants.
Two singles and one team were selected as winners.
The criteria for winning the contest focused on three elements: flavor, recipe and appearance plus presentation.
Italian Chef Stefano of Lifestyle Café in Le Promenade 2 was there to assist the participants during cooking. He also gave a presentation on the new LG Solar Dom oven. Two of the judges were LG members and one was randomly chosen from the public.
The winners were Shereen Bukhari, Eftiquar Tashkandy, Asma Abouda and Manal Basaghar.
The 20 participants were given LG microwave ovens while the four winners will have the chance to go to Dubai and compete on Nov. 17 in the LG final cooking competition with other winners from the Middle East and Africa.
