If you go on the streets and ask someone what a supercar is, you will probably get the answer like, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Porsche, or Maserati. But what has happened to the real supercar which is what you call a supercar. What has happened to the company who makes the best supercars in the world? The company which has been long forgotten. The company which’s name is Bugatti. The company which has produced the WORLD’S fastest, most powerful, and most expensive gasoline powered street legal car. This cars name is the Bugatti Veyron. There are many cars that are similar to it, like the Koenigsegg CCX, Pagani Zonda, Ferrari Enzo, and Saleen S7. But none of these cars have exceeded the limit and are not quite like this one. The Bugatti Veyron has a top speed of 420 kmp, no car except the Bugatti Veyron has reached that speed. The world’s second fastest cars speed is only 370 kmp. The Bugatti Veyron has 1001 brake horsepower, and has a cost of $1,300,000! Now... wouldn’t you call that a supercar? What else could you expect a supercar to have, but that’s not why it’s so great, it has much more to it.
A German car designed by Ferdinand Piëch, and is the most recent car Bugatti has produced. It was produced on January 2006. The car was not made as easily as it may sound. There was a tremendous amount of thinking and testing after they finally got the right model. The first model they made wasn’t quite good. When they took the car for testing they found out that it wasn’t very aerodynamic, had bad handling and only reached a top speed of 370 kmp. So the team started to rebuild the model and started to make little changes. For instance like making smaller side-view mirrors in order to reduce weight and aero dynamism. But they found out that big side-view mirrors helped in the handling. After making many changes the team got the right model which’s full name is Bugatti Veyron 16.4. Both the prototype and the Bugatti Veyron 16.4 are in production. The Bugatti Veyron has a tremendously large 100-liter tank that can be finished just in 12.5 minutes if the car is going at full speed. When the car was made the people didn’t only have to make the car go fast but they even had to think about its acceleration braking and interior. The Bugatti Veyron is the world’s fastest accelerating car too. It does 0-100 kmp in just 2.5 seconds. In fact its acceleration is so fast that in a drag race if a McLaren F1 was going at 220 kmp and the Bugatti Veyron started it would reach 300 kmp before the McLaren F1. The Bugatti Veyron can do 0-100 kmp in 2.5 seconds, 0-200 kmp in 7.3 seconds, 0 to 300 kmp in 16.7 seconds, and 0-400 kmp in 55 seconds.
The Bugatti Veyron’s wheel alignment is so good that if the car is going at full speed and you pressed the brake full the car would stay in a straight line. When you press the brake of the car a spoiler comes out in 0.4 seconds at a 70-degree angle to stop the cars aerodynamics and make it stop faster. The car has a removable spoiler which helps the cars down force and handling.
The cars speed limit is 370 kmp. To go faster than that speed you have to stop the car, take out the ignition key and insert it on a slot on the floor. By doing this, the car gets lowered and the back wing gets locked down which reduces down force. The car can go faster than 400 kmp but doesn’t to prevent tire damage. The car has specially designed Michelin run-flat tires for its high speed. The car is a 7-gear manual with automatic transmission. It is a two-colored car which has only 300 of its type in production. The Bugatti Veyron is a two-seater coupe. The Bugatti Veyron is luxurious from the exterior and the interior. In the interior, the Veyron has all the accessories you could possibly think a supercar could have. To me, I think the Bugatti Veyron is the world’s best car.
