Eight Killed in Traffic Accident

TABUK, 16 November 2007 — Eight people died when a minibus carrying five teachers and a car carrying a Saudi family of nine collided on a road 50 km away from Deba in the Tabuk area. The minibus was carrying five female teachers and their driver. Four of the teachers died on the spot, one is currently in intensive care. Four members of the Saudi family died, five were left injured. The injured were taken to Deba Hospital and then to King Khalid Hospital in Tabuk. “Three Civil Defense teams, a fire truck and a Red Crescent team attended the scene of the crash,” said Maj. Saleh Al-Amri, spokesman at Tabuk police station. Hussain Soliman Al-Karany, at Deba Hospital said, “The injured were first treated at Deba Hospital and then sent to King Khalid Hospital in Tabuk.”
