Saudi Accidentally Deported to Yemen, Awaiting Repatriation
MADINAH, 20 November 2007 — Yemeni authorities released Rabah Attieh, a Saudi citizen who was deported by mistake from the Passport Department in Riyadh, the daily Madinah reported yesterday. Immigration officials thought that Rabah, who was suffering from an undisclosed mental illness, was a Yemeni citizen who came to Saudi Arabia without a work visa. Rabah had been missing for five months. His family finally received a phone call from Yemeni authorities informing them that Rabah was in their custody. Once the family located and confirmed Rabah’s identity, they called the Human Rights Organization in Jeddah asking for their help in repatriating Rabah back to the Kingdom.
