DUBAI, 25 November 2007 — The Big 5 PMV, which opens today at Airport Expo Dubai, gives an extra dimension to the region’s leading construction and contracting exhibition which has been extended to a second venue in response to soaring demand for plant, construction vehicles, machinery and equipment, organizers said yesterday.

Covering more than 30,000 square meters of space, the construction exposition features a dedicated outdoor arena where a huge selection of construction equipment, including giant cranes which characterize the enormous development under way in the UAE and region wide, are on show.

The new exhibition, organized by Streamline Marketing Group, is being held as part of the Big 5 event which enters its 28th year at Dubai Dubai International Exhibition Center.

Among more than 200 exhibitors at the Big 5 PMV, Zoomlion, one of China’s top construction machinery manufacturers, is developing a major presence in Dubai to accelerate its multimillion dollar business growth in the Middle East. The company, which increased sales in the region from $8 million in 2005 to $19 million last year, is forecasting a leap in sales of $40 million this year and $70 million in 2008 on the back of the Middle East construction boom.

Yesterday Zoomlion broke ground on a $2.72 million spare parts warehouse and service center in Dubai’s Jebel Ali Free Zone, where it established a UAE branch office in April.

Expansion across the Gulf region will soon follow.

“We are planning to set up new Zoomlion offices in each of the Gulf countries” said Chen Peiliang, general manager of Zoomlion International Trade Co., Ltd. “Currently Zoomlion’s overseas market has exceeded more than $120 million, with the Middle East contributing about 30 percent of that.”

“The Middle East is very important to us and we’re looking forward to even more growth in this area. The Big 5 PMV is an excellent opportunity to meet potential partners throughout the region as well as reinforce relations we already have here.”
