JEDDAH, 26 November 2007 — Noha, a 17-year-old high-school student in Al-Safa district, has been missing for 17 days, Al-Madinah newspaper reported yesterday. Police have intensified their search for the girl, who went to school but didn’t return home.
Her father called for her over the school’s public address system but there was no response. He waited for several hours and then reported to the police that his daughter was missing.
The father suspects another girl in the school of involvement in his daughter’s disappearance. There was bad feeling between the two girls and the other girl constantly threatened his daughter, according to the father. Police have questioned the girl and her brother but have been unable to link them to the disappearance.
The father of the missing girl said, “I go to the police station every day hoping that some news will turn up. Her mother is suffering a great deal and we would appreciate any help that anyone could give us. When my daughter went missing, she was still wearing her school uniform.”
