DUBAI, 28 November 2007 — ENOC has announced Saeed Abdullah Khoory’s appointment as chief executive officer of ENOC, effective Dec.1, 2007.
Khoory takes over from Hussain Sultan, who retires as group chief executive of ENOC, a position he has held for the last 35 years since the group’s start-up.
Under the leadership of Sultan, the company went from strength to strength.
Commenting on the new appointment, Ahmed Humaid Al-Tayer, ENOC’s vice chairman, said, “I would like to take this opportunity to welcome Saeed Khoory to the ENOC family. With a solid 28 years experience in ADNOC, Khoory is an expert in both upstream and downstream activities in the Emirates and is well placed to be a strategic implementer for ENOC’s growth.”
On his new role, Khoory said: “With the support of ENOC management and its board of directors, we will continue to focus our activities to be an important player in the local and international energy industry.”
“ENOC already operates many international businesses, which will be a major focus of our growth in the future, and will help to extend our excellent brand vision across the world,” he added.
With a strong industry background, Khoory has been responsible for several industry achievements and is set to spearhead the future growth of the leading oil and gas company.
