RIYADH, 3 December 2007 — Every last Tuesday of each month members at the Dirab Golf Club from the distaff side get together for a tournament exclusive among them. On Tuesday the Ladies Monthly Medal was organized for the month of November.
Like the last time Radisson SAS Hotel Riyadh through General Manager Mohamed Benamar generously sponsored the full handicap stroke play competition.
And the winners were Japanese Mitsuyo Saito in the First Division (0-27 handicap) and Flore Bouzanne in the Second Division (28-36).
Saito played pretty well to actually shoot the best gross score of 93 and with her handicap of 21 won by two strokes with a net 72 from fellow Japanese Mami Tsukuda, who returned 74. Bouzanne, a Filipino married to a Frenchman with a 29 handicap, emerged a runaway winner in her division signing for a net 74 with Vicki Smith in second place on 81. Sue Lockwood took home the award for the longest drive and Junko Akito, the October Monthly First Division winner, pocketed the closest to pin plum.
A field of 20 players teed it up braving the early morning chill that signaled the start of winter in Riyadh. Dirab Ladies Captain Theresa Wade presided the prize-giving ceremony at the clubhouse. Dirab Golf Club Manager Bouchaib El Jadiani and his staff organized the tournament.
