RIYADH, 5 December 2007 — Aljawal, the mobile arm of Saudi Telecom (STC), offers Nokia Intellisync Wireless Email to its customer base both as a hosted service and as behind-the-firewall deployment, Nokia said yesterday. Aljawal has already launched the hosted wireless email service, branded as “My Em@il”.
“With Nokia Intellisync Wireless Email, we are the first operator in the Kingdom to offer mobile email to our customers”, said Jameel Al-Molhem, marketing general manager at Aljawal. “As we are addressing consumers, SMEs and large corporate customers, so it was important to find one solution that can cater for each of the customer segments. In addition, Nokia Intellisync Wireless Email supports more than 100 different devices from entry-level devices up to business smartphones such as the Nokia Eseries portfolio, which further improves the flexibility of the solution.”

Aljawal serves more than 16 million customers via 2G/3.5G mobile network that covers 98 percent of urban areas including country roads.
