Worshippers Enraged Over Use of Carpet

AL-RASS, 17 January 2008 — A local imam enraged his congregation when some of the members learned that he had removed the carpet inside the mosque and used it to help protect his herd of sheep from the unusually cold winds that have been blowing in the Kingdom in the past few days.

According to yesterday’s Okaz newspaper, local worshippers were outraged over the use of the carpet for a windscreen and have called authorities to investigate the imam for insubordination. The livestock, on the other hand, were probably more appreciative of the imam’s gesture.
