JEDDAH — Police are looking for the criminals who recently stopped a transport company representative while he was going to deposit money in the company’s bank account, beat him up and ran away with the money he was carrying.
Col. Misfer Al-Juaid, spokesman of Jeddah police, said the criminals had followed the company official in two cars — a microbus and Cressida — and had harassed him until he stopped his car.
“The criminals then attacked the official and grabbed the money with him,” the spokesman said. Patrol police has been searching for the criminals soon after hearing about the incident and found the cars they used for the crime.
In a related development, police in Samir arrested a Saudi and a Palestinian for acting as criminal investigators and stopping a Dina pickup that carried wood and attacking its Egyptian driver. The two criminals later took control of the vehicle and sold its cargo. Police are still grilling the criminals to know about their previous crimes.
Meanwhile, the Passport Department arrested 112 overstayers and violators of residency regulations recently. Police said they belonged to Asian countries and were running brothels and illegal manpower supply rackets.
