112 Firms to Enter DIC

DUBAI, 23 March 2008 - Dubai Internet City (DIC), one of the largest managed ICT clusters in the world and a member of TECOM Investments, yesterday announced 112 new companies have chosen to locate their operations at the cluster during 2007, which translates to 33 percent growth over 2006. Malek Al-Malek, director of Partner Relations at DIC, said: “Since inception, Dubai Internet City has played a critical role in actively developing the regional ICT industry. Through our initiatives, we have successfully taken a lead in bringing knowledge and expertise to the region in collaboration with our business partners. The direction that Dubai Internet City moves reflects the rate that our business partners are also growing in the region.”

EIG Sponsorship

SHARJAH, 23 March 2008 — Emirates Investment Group (EIG) has announced its support and sponsorship of the First International Conference on Arabs’ and Muslims’ History of Sciences, organized under the auspices of Sheikh Dr. Sultan ibn Mohammed Al-Qassimi, ruler of Sharjah and member of the UAE Supreme Council, at the University of Sharjah on March 24-27. “Our Arab-Islamic history is the wellspring from which we gain our strength and resiliency. And our scholars are the mainstay of the current economic boom we are witnessing in our country,” said Sheikh Tariq ibn Faisal Al-Qassimi, EIG chairman.

DAE University

DUBAI, 23 March 2008 — Dubai Aerospace Enterprise University (DAE University), the education and training arm of Dubai Aerospace Enterprise, will conduct a series of knowledge sessions in the UAE to familiarize students who are keen to pursue a career in the aviation and aerospace industry about its higher education and training options in aviation. The road shows, to be held in Ras Al-Khaimah today, Abu Dhabi tomorrow, Dubai on March 25, Al-Ain on March 26 and in Fujairah on March 27 follow a successful orientation campaign held for prospective students in selected centers in the Middle East, Hong Kong as well as 14 key Indian cities. Knowledge sessions will also be held through the GCC. Apart from meeting DAE University representatives, participants can also interact with students currently enrolled with the institution for various programs. Bob Johnson, CEO of DAE Group, said: “The aviation sector in the Middle East region is growing at 10 percent annually, double the global average, according to recent estimates from the Arab Air Carriers Organization (AACO).”
