YANBU, 29 April 2008 — Authorities arrested a group of hunters, all young men, and confiscated their unlicensed guns in Sharm yesterday. Lt. Muneer Al-Humaidani of Yanbu police said security officials found the weapons when they stopped a car at a gas station in the area.
Investigations revealed that the young men were using the weapons to hunt migratory birds. Ibrahim Al-Sultan, chief city administrator, said police have been instructed to keep an eye on hunters who are holding unauthorized weapons and those hunting near urban areas.
Meanwhile, police recovered a stolen car and returned it to its owner only half an hour after its disappearance.
