DAMMAM: The specially-tailored Youth Leadership Program organized by Area 32 of Dammam Toastmasters was a huge success, with the little ones, exuding calm countenance, taking to the stage as accomplished speakers.
The grand finale was managed and conducted by the youngsters themselves. Adeptly handled and professionally managed, the show included children from age 12-14 and the other group from age 14 -16.
“Table topics are always a test of ones confidence, thinking and coordinating thoughts with words. And these kids were really amazing,” stated Irfan Madani, a parent who watched the entire proceedings.
Dr. Zubair Sheikh was all praise as he saw his daughter speak as never before. “I am overawed! She has never ever spoken like this before,” said the visibly elated father.
“We feel elated. It was a fantastic learning experience. It was not so much a matter of winning as it was of participation,” said Arpita Madan, a participant.
Muneeba Rizvi, the winner of the junior group table topic, was a delight to hear. She chose her words with precision and delivered it crisply. The spellbound audience gave her a thunderous applause. Tanmay Singh, Ibrahim Qureshi, Atif Zubair were the other winners in the category. In the prepared speech contest, Nivedita Nair was the winner followed by Yash Prakash, Joanna Mathews and Nabeel Shuja Shareef.
In the 14 years and above category, Anand Dilip was the winner in the table topic section followed by Abhinanadan Garg, Aiman K. Rizvi and Shalini Trivedi. Amal Varghese won the first place in the prepared speech followed by Maria Garcete, Surya Souman and Megna Ghafoor. Abraham Thomas, Brinda Subatran, T.V. Sunder and Shaila Koya coordinated the Youth Leadership Program that had 55 students. Eight workshops were organized.
