ISLAMABAD: Despite India’s renewed allegations against Pakistan’s prime intelligence outfit, the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), for Kabul bombing both India and Pakistan are set to resume their next talks on Confidence-Building Measures (CBMs) on July 18.
The meeting on joint secretaries level is expected to discuss new CBMs including modalities for intra-Kashmir trade and the launch of a truck service between Srinagar and Muzaffarabad. Lists of items to be traded through the truck service will also be discussed during the meeting. It would also review the existing bus services and measures to expand and facilitate travel between the two parts of Kashmir.
“We have received some negative signals from New Delhi but hope that the fifth round will start as planned,” a senior official said yesterday. This would be an important round as both sides would be kick-starting the maximum CBMs during this round, the official said.
