Holy Kaaba to be washed today

MAKKAH: Makkah Gov. Prince Khaled Al-Faisal is scheduled to wash the Holy Kaaba today, the first day of the lunar month Shaaban, the Saudi Press Agency reported yesterday. The interior of the Kaaba will be rubbed with a cloth soaked in Zam Zam water perfumed with rose water prepared by the Presidency of the Two Holy Mosques. Prominent Islamic scholars, ministers and foreign dignitaries will attend the washing rite. Saleh Abdul Rahman Al-Hussein, head of the Presidency of the Two Holy Mosques and the keeper of the keys of Kaaba, will also attend the event.
