JEDDAH: The six men who were shot dead during talks aimed at reconciling two families in Taif were buried on Friday while their relatives were still receiving condolences two months after their deaths, Al-Madinah newspaper reported yesterday.
Five of the victims were brothers while the sixth was a son of one of the brothers. The bodies of the victims were handed over to their families after the investigations were completed.
The shootings took place during reconciliation talks held to reduce tension over a land dispute in Al-Sail near Taif. The attack on June 3 left 6 dead and 17 injured.
The families of the victims consist of 96 individuals who are in need of help after losing their breadwinners.
Reconciliation talks are held between different tribes or within the same tribe in order to reduce tension over conflicts and disputes regarding land and the payment of blood money.
