HYDERABAD: Maulana Azad National Urdu University has announced the establishment of two polytechnic colleges in Hyderabad and Bangalore.
University Vice Chancellor professor A.M. Pathan has described it as an important step toward promotion of Urdu language in contemporary world. With the start of these polytechnics, the language of Ghalib and Meer will now become the medium of instruction for the latest diploma courses such as computer engineering and IT, he said.
Since its inception, the university is striving hard for the promotion of Urdu language through higher education, thus fulfilling its mandate bestowed by the Parliament Act of 1998.
MANUU is successfully conducting different courses under campus and distance modes through Urdu medium. It has a vast network spread across the country with nine regional centers, six sub-regional centers and 141 study centers.
The university has started an examination center in Jeddah. Its MCJ, MBA & Education departments are claimed to be among the best in terms of facilities and output.
The admission process is on for distance mode PG, undergraduate courses, B. Ed. (for in-service teachers) and diploma in journalism and mass communication, certificate courses in proficiency in Urdu through English and Hindi, functional English and food and nutrition.
