Mike Ming masterpieces laptops

Dell has launched five Special Art Edition designs for the Dell Studio 15 and 17 laptops, exclusively created by Brooklyn-based urban artist Mike Ming (www.mikeming.com). Dell uses a special manufacturing technique, which creates a permanent tattoo of the vibrant colors and individual brushstrokes on the laptop’s cover. The notebooks come with features such as standard built-in webcam, touch media control buttons, slot load drives and optional mercury-free LED displays, backlit keyboards and built-in mobile broadband. See them at www.dell.com/art.

Visualize weight loss

If you have been overweight for awhile, it is hard to imagine how you might look if you lost a few pounds. Sometimes a little extra motivation is needed to stick to a diet. With WeightMirror.com you can see a simulation of the payoff from dieting even before you start shooting for your weight loss goal. The user uploads a good front facing photo to the site, then the online application analyzes the subject of the photo. The application adjusts the appearance of the subject to reflect incremental weight losses from five to 25 pounds. The transformation takes only a few seconds.

Better posture enhances appearance

From Dr. Moacir Schnapp, a neurologist, comes a posture improvement device, the iPosture (www.iPosture.com). Just one inch in diameter, the iPosture was designed with nanosensor technology. It learns the user’s correct posture, senses when the body slouches and it alerts the user through vibration to correct his or her posture. The device continues to vibrate until posture is corrected. Schnapp asserts that improving posture not only benefits health but also enhances appearance. The iPosture may be worn as a pendant, clipped to clothing or adhered directly to the skin. The iPosture is designed to be worn for approximately four hours per day for the first two to four weeks in order to improve posture by ingraining good behavior in the user. The user should continue to use the device two to three times per week thereafter to maintain posture improvement.
