ABHA: An old man was shot at and injured by a youth in Baha on Friday in a suspected murder attempt, Maj. Saad Al-Saleh, police spokesman of Baha said in a statement yesterday.
“The man was shot at his right thigh while he was returning after the night prayers at about 10 p.m.
It appears that the assailant was identified by the victim as the youth who threatened to kill him three days ago,” Al-Saleh said.
The officer added that the old man said in his statement that the assailant had some bitter feelings against the old man because he suspected the youth was involved in the murder of the old man’s son more than a year ago.
“My son was found dead in Hazna town in Baha several hours after he was seen in the company of the youth who attacked me,” the police officer quoted the man as saying.
The youth was also suspected to be a drug addict. Police are investigating the case.
