DAMMAM: A Saudi police officer was killed early on Thursday in a stabbing incident in the city of Al-Khafji. The officer was working as a security guard at a residential compound.
Police in Al-Khafji have ruled out the possibility of the attacker targeting foreigners living in the compound and said the motive behind the killing was personal. A 31-year-old suspect was arrested for stabbing the officer, 37, in the back several times.
Police said the attacker fled the scene, but was caught after family members handed over the man after they learned about the incident.
