JEDDAH: Porsche has unveiled its latest range of Porsche 911 Carrera and Carrera 4, and Cayenne Turbo S at two separate events over the weekend.
“Porsche’s latest generation of 911 Carrera coupe and cabriolet brings performance to the core and raises the bar in Saudi Arabia,”
“Porsche engineers have done a fine job in making the new Carrera even more enjoyable to drive. The new features of the Carrera range take this legendary nameplate to an even higher level,” Mohammed Wajeeh Sharbatly, CEO, Porsche Centers Saudi Arabia, Saudi Arabia Marketing & Agencies Company Ltd., said. More powerful, fuel-efficient and flat-six engines with direct fuel injection are among the highlights of the new series of 911 Carrera and Carrera 4 for both the rear-wheel and all-wheel drive variants. “On the other hand, power is accompanied with a greener solution, with the new levels of improved fuel economy and lower CO2 emissions,” he added.
The Carrera and Carrera 4 boast a flat-six 3.6-liter powerplant with direct fuel injection that develops 345 bhp, a total of 20 bhp more than before.
Deesch Papke, managing director of Porsche Middle East and Africa, sees the new Carrera range as the most technologically advanced yet. “The Carrera and the Carrera 4 offer outstanding performance with a range of cutting-edge technology,” he said.
The new Cayenne Turbo S is the most powerful produced among all cars Porsche has produced in this class, Sharbatly said. It is driven by a 4.8 liter V8 engine with twin turbo forced induction, delivering 550 hp (404 kW).
“The Turbo S is Porsche’s response to the wishes of its customers. There is huge demand, especially in this market for exclusive sports style SUVs with top quality physical handling dynamics,” he added.

Despite the fact that Porsche has managed to give the new Turbo S even better drive performance than the regular Turbo model (500 hp / 368 kW), the fuel efficiency figures for the Turbo S are exactly the same as those for the Cayenne Turbo (as per the calculation methods stipulated under the New European Operating Cycle — NEFZ, Sharbatly said.
