High-level Saudi team to visit AMU, Osmania

JEDDAH: A high-level Saudi delegation will visit India’s Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) and Osmania University, Hyderabad, for mutual cooperation in higher education, said professor Dr. Hashim Bakar Hariri, vice president of Umm Al-Qura University, Makkah.

Dr. Hariri was speaking as chief guest at Sir Syed Day function organized by the AMU Old Boys, Jeddah Chapter, at La Sani Restaurant on Thursday.

A large number of old boys attended the function which was presided over by Hasan Ghias. Shakeel Ahmed, consul at the Consulate General of India, was the guest of honor. Ghias shared his experience of Aligarh and called upon the alumni to do their best to support their alma mater. Anjum Iqbal highlighted the relevance of the Aligarh movement in the 21st century. Asim Zeeshan and Shaheer Alam co-hosted the program while Rashid Quraishi proposed the vote of thanks which was followed by the rendition of “Aligarh Tarana.”
