MAKKAH: Around 250,000 pilgrims from America, Australia and Europe, including Turkey, will perform Haj this year, said Abdullah Alauddin, head of the Tawafa Establishment for pilgrims from these regions.
Alauddin said 29, 19 and 11 field teams would be providing services around the clock to pilgrims from Turkey, and Western and Eastern Europe respectively.
He said pilgrims would be provided with services as soon as they arrive in the Kingdom. “They will be received at the airport, provided with accommodations and transported to and from the holy sites,” he said.
Alauddin said the pilgrims would be given all possible assistance during Haj in the holy sites. “When pilgrims return from Arafat, they will be taken directly to the Jamrat for the stoning ritual and from there to Makkah to perform the Tawaf Al-Ifada,” he said.
He added that the last date for pilgrims to return home is Jan. 10 (Muharram 7).
Alauddin said 72 percent of the establishment’s field service providers have obtained ISO certification, while the 11 teams serving pilgrims from Eastern Europe are expected to obtain the certification this year.
He said the establishment, which is using state-of-the-art technology, has completed training its cadres to provide the best services to the guests of Allah.
