Inmate hangs himself in jail

YANBU: A prisoner committed suicide yesterday by hanging himself from a window in a dormitory that he shared with other inmates.

Police said the prisoner, identified only with his initials I. N., used his ghutra (the head scarf worn by Saudi men) to hang himself when other inmates and prison guards were busy in prayer.

According to the police, the man was sentenced to jail for drug trafficking.
