Haj guide in ten languages
The Muslims at Islamic Bulletin have expanded their efforts in compiling single page Haj and Umrah guides. The Guide is now available in ten languages — Arabic, English, Farsi, French, German, Indonesian, Italian, Spanish, Turkish and Urdu. Download a copy free in Word or PDF formats in letter size (81/2 x 11) or legal size (81/2 x 14) from http://islamicbulletin.com/services/hajj.htm. Keep the guide handy in your mobile digital device or print it out for yourself or others.
This guide fits on one page so it’s easy to carry anywhere. In the guide Muslims find each step in the Haj clearly broken down for them without having to flip through the pages of different books. This guide provides all the basics including step-by-step details of each ritual; a map of the Kaaba to use in locating Safa and Marwah; a visual representation of the steps for Tawaf; key prayers that should be recited including the appropriate times and places; miles and kilometers of the necessary routes; and basic schedules.
Overcome restricted access
Sometimes there’s a crisis back home and you’re desperate for news, but what can you do if you’re not allowed to browse the Internet from your work computer? Use your e-mail instead. Rediff.com India Ltd. has launched a “Web-in-mail” service. This is a way to read the web using your e-mail.
To access Internet content using your e-mail client, send an e-mail to [email protected]. In the mail’s subject line send the URL of the webpage that you want to access. A reply will be received in your inbox with the selected webpage. Clicking a hyperlink within the webpage received automatically composes another mail. On sending this mail another reply mail is received with a new webpage.
The service also allows users to search the Internet. Users simply need to send their search query in the subject line of an e-mail and the result mail will be sent via e-mail. Details about “Web-in-mail” can be found at http://webinmail.rediff.com.
