MAKKAH: Minister of Telecommunications and Information Technology Mohammed Jamil Mullah recently inspected Mobily’s locations at the holy sites of Makkah. The visit came as part of the Minister’s tour to see the preparedness of mobile operators for Haj season.
Mullah was shown a presentation on Mobily’s preparations and the improvements the company has made to make the Haj as easy and smooth for the pilgrims as possible.
CEO Khalid Al-Kaf showed the Minister around Mobily’s main exchange switches in Muzdalifah, which carry the international gateway that is capable of facilitating millions of calls made by pilgrims to their loved ones at home.
Mullah praised Mobily’s keenness on providing the best quality service in the Kingdom.
Mobily has boosted its network capacity for this year’s Haj to accommodate more than three million mobile users. Mobily also provides free WiFi Internet connectivity to the pilgrims who can log on to the Net after a simple registration procedure. Also, Mobily has covered the holy sites with 3.5G, making it easy for the pilgrims to share their Haj experience with their loved ones live with audio and video.
