JEDDAH: Al-Nasr will take on Al-Ittifaq at the Prince Faisal bin Fahd Stadium Riyadh in round 14 of the Saudi Professional League, which resumes today. Ittifaq, who are currently fourth on the table with 20 points, will be looking to move up the standings with a win today in what is supposed to be the best of the four matches.
Nasr on the other hand, who are in the fifth position with 18 points, will be looking to make amends following their dismal performance and putting the past behind them with a win which will put them back in the competition and move a rung up in the table.
A draw or loss will make matters complicated for Nasr.
In Jeddah at Prince Abdullah Al-Faisal Stadium, Al-Ahli will host Abha in a match that is considered relatively easy for the host. Ahli want to compensate the three points lost in round 13 of the league competition against Al-Shabab who they lost to 3-2.
Ahli are currently sixth with 16 points. A win today will take them to the fifth spot if Nasr lose or draw their match against Ittifaq.
Abha, who have a lone 1-0 win against Najran, which came in their last league match, are way down the ladder in the 11th place with seven points. And will be looking forward to collecting three points against Ahli and escape from the relegation zone.
Al-Watani of Tabuk, lingering at the bottom of the table with only five points, will host Al-Raid of Buraidah.
The last match is between Wehda and Shabab in Makkah. Shabab needs a win to keep the five points gap with Al-Hilal who is in second place with 33 points. Shabab are third in the standings with 28 points. The first round between the two teams ended in favor of Shabab in Riyadh 4-2. Wehda will try to seek revenge for their earlier defeat and will make a fight of it. Wehda are seventh in the standing with 15 points.
