JEDDAH: Jeddah Cricket League Afternoon tournament popularly known as ACE Cup tourney played on Fridays afternoon began its 2nd week with usual enthusiasm. ACE Cup League is sponsored by esteemed Ace Travels and managed by Jeddah Cricket League.

The tournament will run for 12 weeks including the knockout stage.

Ace Travels made this decision of sponsoring this mega event with the sole intention of giving the royal game of cricket a boost in the Kingdom along with Jeddah Cricket League.

Ace Travels again dominated the afternoon even though AAA put up a good total on the board. IAL made short work of experienced Eaglets winning by huge margin of 123 runs.

AAA won the toss and elected to bat first and piled up 186 for 5 in their allotted 18 overs as Naveed batting like a champion of the day plundered 77 off 29 balls with 2 magnificent sixes and 12 sweetly timed hits to the fence got able support from Hashim who made 31 in 20 balls and Sadeequin hit 55 in 22 balls with 7 fours and a six. Mubashir took 3-33.

Ace Travels chasing this huge total went about in a truly professional way and batted like the champion team they are requiring to score more than 11 runs per over achieved 187 for only 2 in 16 overs winning by huge 8 wickets as Abdul Rehman who made 39 in 27 balls with a six and 2 fours and Tariq Jamal who stroked 55 in 23 balls with 10 hits to the ropes, Nabil contributing with 36 not out in 17 balls and Atta as usual in awesome touch played just 17 balls for his classy 45 not out with 1x6. 5x4. exhibited a fantastic chase showing to the spectators that any total is achievable. Hashim took 2-43. This match was in contrast to the other encounter as this was turned into a no contest. I A L choosing to bat first against Eaglets piled up 167 for 6 in 18 overs as Hafis Shahzad hit 40 in 31 balls, Aijaz made 32 and Tariq hit a half ton of 52 not out in 23 balls. Aarif of Eaglet took 2-47. Eaglet in reply went down like the nine pins to be allout for 45 in just 10 overs. Eijaz, Imam, Tariq took 2 wkts each.
