Infrared touch screens inform
Samsung Electronics has introduced five new LCD monitors with touch screens ranging from 81cm (32 inch) to 208cm (82 inch). These new LCD monitors in the TSn Series were developed mainly for the display of information.
Unlike existing models that require users to purchase a monitor, a touch screen overlay, and a PC separately, users can run the TSn simply by plugging it into an electric outlet. The TSn series LCDs are all-in-one models including touch screens, protective glass and PC functions. Of special interest is that the TSn series has adopted an infrared touch screen, enabling users to operate the screen with either their fingers or any other object they find handy.
Plus, with the "MagicInfo" function, the TSn series allows users to control the transmission of full HD content and the setting of motion time simultaneously for all TSn models regardless of location. These information display-specific panels are best-optimized for the digital signage market. The TSn boasts superior durability and reliability even in large areas such as airports, and shopping malls, where control and management of displays can be difficult.
Primary source for worldwide recalls
Wondering if that used car you're considering buying is driving on hazardous tires? Or if that toy you bought at a garage sale is safe? USArecalls.com, created in early 2005, has been recreated under a new model, which allows its users to post information, tips and suggestions on recalls. The site will eventually catalog all registered recalls since 1990. The site will have a wide range of recalls from foods to automotives. Recalls have skyrocketed in recent years due to the increase in imports from countries with limited quality control.
Use your microwave safely
The American Frozen Food Institute (AFFI) has launched www.microwaveovenfacts.com. This new website offers valuable information to consumers about the safe preparation of foods using a microwave oven. Visitors to the site will find wattage information for individual microwave units, best practices for food preparation and other resources to aid in safe microwave cooking. Wattage information is particularly important, as it's impossible to properly prepare foods in a microwave oven unless the unit's power is known.
If you can't make it to the race
Videos of Speedcar Series events are now available on the web. Specially created and edited packages of exclusive footage can be found on a dedicated YouTube channel after each race. Videos from Round 1 in Dubai and Round 2 Bahrain are available now on the Speedcar Series channel - www.youtube.com/speedcarseries. Subsequent ones will be added after each race weekend.
The edits. which average four minutes, include qualifying and race highlights, driver interviews, additional grid interviews, behind-the-scenes footage and subsequent recaps of highlights from every race. More videos will be added after the next event, the night races in Qatar on Feb. 13 and 14.
