MANAMA: Bahrain based Al-Salam Bank Bahrain (ASBB), which reported a net profit of BD25.5 million for 2008, will launch a new company for agri-business with a capital of $50 million, the chairman of the bank disclosed here yesterday.
“As part of a strategy, ASBB will focus on agriculture and energy sectors in 2009 and the formation of the new agriculture business company is part of it,” Mohammed Alabbar told the shareholders during the general assembly held at the Gulf Hotel.
“ASBB is also keen to invest in bio-fuel project in Hong Kong,” he said.
