JEDDAH: German officials and business leaders said yesterday that their companies were keenly interested in exploiting huge potential existing in Saudi Arabia.
“We have not tapped the Saudi potential much. With our means and our local partners, we should be able to exploit the potential,” Stefan Schneck, counselor and head of the economic section at the German Embassy in Riyadh, said at the sixth annual German breakfast meeting hosted by the German Saudi Arabian Liaison Office for Economic Affairs (GESALO).
Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry Secretary General Mustafa A.K. Sabri, the chief guest, spoke about the close commercial relations between the two countries and later opened a catalog show of 30 German companies, mainly small and medium ones, which showcased their products and services. The exhibition will continue at the JCCI till March 11.
“The Kingdom is one of the most stable countries and while our commercial relations are expanding, we also want cultural and political relations to grow between the two countries,” he said, adding that the interfaith dialogue initiated by Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah was a good move.
