BAHA: The Indian Consulate General has decided to resume consular visits to Baha once in three months for providing miscellaneous services to the community members. The team will consist of consular and community welfare officers so that both the passport and attestation services are provided and labor matters attended to during the visits.
The consulate also decided to involve voluntary organizations in Baha to pursue the cases of the Indian community with the local authorities and sponsors based on authorization given to them by the consulate on a case-by-case basis.
A coordination committee has been set up for the purpose, which will interact with the consulate and the Indian community in the area. Consul General Sayeed Ahmed Baba, who visited Baha over the weekend, urged the community members to help resolve the problems of their compatriots. Baba, who was accompanied by Consul (consular) R.S. Kharayat and Consul (Community Welfare) K.K. Vijayan, also inspected the offices of the outsourcing agencies tasked with passport and visa services in Baha.
