JEDDAH: Five new models of Higer luxury buses for domestic and international travel were launched here on Monday night.
Raad Abdul Jawad, CEO of the Saudi Company for Diesel Equipment Ltd. said the Kingdom’s rapid development, especially in the field of tourism, had created a high demand for buses. These buses, manufactured by Higer Bus Company Ltd., based in Jiangsu Province of China, will have a potentially rich market across the Kingdom, he said, adding that the local company has established maintenance workshops and service centers across the Kingdom for the buses. The buses are being introduced with an eye on the needs of schools and increasing Haj and Umrah pilgrim traffic, he added.
Huang Shupin, vice managing director of Higer buses, said the new vehicles were new generation products with advanced technology and outstanding performance. “These buses stand out in luxury, safety, drivability and stability,” Shupin said. The company’s 1,500 buses were used during the Beijing Olympics.
The company was established in 1998. As one of the fastest developing bus manufacturers in China, Higer had one of the best research and development divisions and so the company’s products were known for its innovation and precision. “Higer Bus is one of the few bus manufacturers licensed by the Chinese authorities to produce complete bus and chassis,” he said. He described Higer Bus as a new star in the international bus industry.
Higer now supplies buses to more than 30 countries and regions including the United States, Russia, Algeria, Qatar, Malaysia and Macau.
