HAIL: Police in Hail arrested a young man on charges he stabbed a police officer on his way from work to home. The 20-year-old officer in uniforms was returning home after work.
A car with four people in it pulled up next to the officer’s private vehicle at an intersection. A Saudi man came out carrying a knife and stabbed the officer while shouting that he was an undercover cop (presumably because he was driving a private vehicle while in uniform).
The officer was admitted to King Khaled Hospital and was reported to be in stable condition. He said there were three others in the car at the time.
Lt. Col. Abdul Aziz Al-Zunaidi, spokesman for Hail police, said they arrested the assailant after putting out an APB with the vehicle’s description. The other people in the vehicle have not been tracked down as accomplices.
