AL-JOUF: The second suspect in the case of the abduction of a 15-year-old boy, as reported yesterday, has been arrested.

The man had kidnapped the boy in Al-Jouf on Friday together with an accomplice, said Col. Daman Al-Daraan, spokesman for Al-Jouf Police, adding that the suspect had run off into a nearby farm following a police chase.

Police officers manning a checkpoint on Kyal road west of Sakaka by chance discovered that the teenager had been kidnapped. Al-Daraan said a 1991 Caprice approached the checkpoint with three passengers inside. As officers checked their identity, the boy shouted out that he had been kidnapped. The driver then drove off with police in pursuit. Officers were able to force the driver to pull over. Police rescued the boy from the car and arrested the passenger.

The boy, who is of an Arab nationality, told police that the driver forced him inside the car and then picked up a friend at a coffee shop. He told police that the man had also threatened to rape him. The two men are both Saudis aged 25 and 26. The case has been transferred to the General Prosecution and Investigation Board for further investigation.

Meanwhile, Al-Jouf police is investigating the case of an African maid who stripped naked in the street protesting her mistreatment by her employer.

Police and members of the Commission for the Promotion of Virtue and the Prevention of Vice were called to the location where they dressed the woman and took her to a police station.

The woman, who is 35, recently came to the Kingdom to work as a maid. Her employer, however, returned her to the maid recruitment office where she was employed saying she was unfit for work. The woman then escaped from the office and stripped naked in protest, claiming her employer beat her up. The case has been transferred to the General Prosecution and Investigation Board for further investigation.
