JEDDAH: Thirty-two newly built warehouses have become operational at the First Free Zone of Jeddah Islamic Port.

“These warehouses have been built in Second Warehouse Village of the Free Trade Zone at a cost of SR26 million,” Mohammed S. Al-Zuabi, sales and marketing director of Saudi Trade and Export Development Co. (TUSDEER) told the media yesterday. “The new warehouses have been built following a growing demand for them at the port,” he added. TUSDEER is one of SISCO’s shareholding companies, which owns and operates First Free Zone at the JIP. It formally received the warehouses from Refic Kriedieh Contracting Company.

Warehouse Village II is composed of 32 Warehouses with total net storage capacity of 16,000 sq.m. Among them 30 warehouses were booked in advance prior to the completion of construction.

Previously TUSDEER leased out all of its 34 warehouses in Village I. All warehouses are constructed according to world-class standards. Each warehouse has an area of 502 sq.m., with a six-meter height from the edges, and the peak height of 8.5 meters from the middle. The total area of Warehouse Village II is 17,000 sq.m.

“TUSDEER’s First Free Zone strategic customers come from various local and international sectors,” he added.

They include freight forwarders, supply chain logistic companies, and dealers in cars, heavy equipment, steel and building materials, and household items, who use containers. In addition, TUSDEER has attracted reputable international companies from Germany, the UK, Russia, Sweden and the UAE.
