DAMMAM: Custom officials at the Al-Batha entry point between Saudi Arabia and the UAE arrested a 31-year-old man who tried to smuggle gold, including white gold, into the Kingdom. Col. Yousuf Al-Qahtani, spokesman for the Eastern Province police, said the man was a passenger on a bus and had in his possession 49 kg of gold. The man is still being questioned. Meanwhile, the Customs Department arrested a 50-year-old Arab national who attempted to smuggle 3,582 bottles of liquor into the Kingdom. The alcohol was stored inside his truck.
